Festival Cup Success for Tigers Boys and Girls

What a weekend it was for Tigers JFC

We started off on Saturday afternoon with a tense game against St Cleres at May and Bakers in the Echo Junior Football Leagues Under 9’s Festival Cup. Tigers dominated the first half with chance after chance and went in front with an early goal in the first half. St Cleres were dominant from the 2nd half kick off and pulled a goal back to draw the game level. Both teams could of snatched the win in open play but eventually went to a penalty shootout being decided on a sudden death kick where player of the match went to Tigers Orange Goalkeeper Cassie Shields who saved the deciding kick to take honours for the club.

On Sunday we took the u9’s and the u10’s girls teams to the Essex County Girls league Finals day in Basildon in mini round robin games taking in the atmosphere of the special day. They held there own in all games and played some fantastic football with many neutral spectators being impressed with our young ladies. The u10’s picked up their league winners shield for a fantastic season and on the day in the round robin finished a respectful 3rd place. The u9’s really put themselves about playing the best football they have done all season with every single girl raising their already very high standards to a new level. They were pipped to the winners spot but were extremely proud of finishing runners up in their first season together and already making plans for next season with a few tournaments before having a well earned rest after a busy but enjoyable season.

The Girls Under 12’s Black team were also present on the day to proudly collect their League winners medals after topping the table in a very competitive but enjoyable season.

Well done everyone.
